Attention dancers wanting to compete… it’s going to be an awesome year at ASD!
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Commitment
It is an honor and a privilege to be an Arabesque Competition Dancer! Competition season is an August through June commitment with dancers having an attendance policy of no more than 4 classes per season that can be missed.
All potential competition dancers are required to attend a dance intensive in August each year. This intensive will instruct dancers on the skills needed, as well as place them in appropriate groups.
We will have at least 2 Sunday practices per month, a competition preview, 3-5 weekend dance competitions, and a National Competition. These will be discussed in detail at a parents meeting held yearly in September.
Arabesque Company Teams – Practice 1-3 days per week, 2 Sundays per month and compete in 3–5 competitions annually.
Parents meeting will be held in September.

August Auditions
2026-2027 Auditions will consist of Competition Intensives Aug. 4, 5, 6 & 11, followed by Competition Audition Evaluations on Aug. 12th.
Group 1: Grades K – 2 5:00 – 6:30 p.m.
Group 2: Grades 3 – 5 6:00 – 7:30 p.m.
Group 3: Grades 6 – 8 7:00 – 8:30 p.m.
Group 4: Grades 9 + 8:00 – 9:30 p.m.
Annual membership fee of $50.00 and copy of birth certificate along with a $150 Intensive Fee and Online Registration required (select “Comp reg fee”). Dancers are also required to pay a 2026-2027 Competition Deposit of $50 and Costume Deposit of $100.
Dancers unable to attend the intensive may opt for a private audition with a $150.00 evaluation fee and $50 annual membership fee.
Tentative Competition Meet & Greet Orientation and Choreography Classes: Week of August 18 (Days/Times TBD based upon audition placement.)

Groups
Dancers will be placed into groups based on audition results. Each group will learn a tap, jazz and lyrical dance.
We also will perform a production dance, which will include Sunday practices. Ballet dancers will perform a ballet production in the recital.
Once groups and music are chosen, costuming will be determined with costume fees being announced.
Fees
- Monthly tuition of $70.00 – $280 (depends on # of dances)
- Competition fees are approximately $70.00 per routine/per competition.
- Costume fees are approximately $175.00 per costume.
- Annual membership fee of $50.00.
- Extra fees include shoes, additional competition fees, convention fees, and National preparation practice fees.
